My Current Travel Wishlist

There are so many AMAZING places to visit in the world but here are the ones that are currently at the very top of my wish list…

Having been to Ireland before I know how lush and beautiful it is but what I saw was only the tip of the iceberg. My next visit will be an epic road trip around the entire island giving me an opportunity to explore everything the country has to offer – I already have it planned! Starting in either Dublin or Belfast we’ll take a counter-clockwise tour, taking it all in – the Giant’s Causeway, the Ring of Kerry, the Cliffs of Moher and on and on. The list is extensive but I’ve already got my daily itinerary planned so it’s just a matter of booking the flights, booking the hotels and then heading off on what I know will be a wonderful Irish adventure!

There is so much I want to see and do in China! Rich in history and with stunning landscapes that vary wildly depending on where in the country you are there’s literally something for everyone. For me the ‘must see’ experiences are: the Terracotta Warriors, a walk on the Great Wall, a trip on one of the Bullet Trains, a visit to a Panda sanctuary, a visit to the Rice Fields, exploring the mountain paths in Huangshan, taking the Stairway to Heaven in Longshen, meeting the Giant Buddha in Leshan and getting lost in Shanghai.

Because my list is so long (this is only a fraction!) and it’s such a long way to travel, G and I want to ensure we have the time and money to make it a trip of a lifetime so though it’s probably still a few years away I still get excited just thinking about the possibility.

Every single person I know that has been to Iceland raves about it being the most amazing place on earth. With its arctic beauty (even in the summer) and stunning vistas afforded by the lack of urban sprawl it’s not hard to believe the hype. Like with Ireland, I’d love to rent a car and create my own highlights tour. Of course I’d hit the major sites like the Geyser and the Thermal Baths but I’d also seek out the hidden beauty and the quiet spots that still remain untouched. And if I could get a sighting of the Northern Lights in? Even better! As it’s only a few hours from London there’s really no excuse not to take advantage of all of this wonder being (almost literally) at my fingertips.

Other spots I’m desperate to visit one day?

  • The Amalfi Coast
  • Tuscany
  • South Africa
  • The Maldives
  • Nairobi
  • Egypt
  • Sweden
  • Denmark
  • New Zealand (I want to see Hobbiton!)
  • Bulgaria
  • Florence
  • Madrid
  • Berlin
  • Peru
  • Costa Rica
  • Japan
  • Antarctica

…and that’s just off the top of my head!

I’d love to hear what’s at the top of your travel wishlist so please do share in the comments below!
