There’s no denying that Paris is one of the most gorgeous cities in the world. In rain or sunshine it exudes that uniquely Parisian feel at every turn and each visit to the city is guaranteed to surprise and delight you with something new…
This week’s Saturday Sights post is coming at you from Paris
(Not to worry…we’ll be back in London for next Saturday!)
For me, on this particular trip, the one sight that kept catching my eye and causing me to peer skyward were the miles upon miles of beautiful balconies adorning almost every building.
Every group of balconies had their own unique character and charms.
It made turning every corner an adventure as there was no way of knowing what kind of beauty the next street would hold!
(The flagship Dior store ^. I bought lip balm and it was possibly the fanciest shopping experience of my life. Once you’ve chosen what you’re going to purchase the sales assistant takes you through to a room where a different set of assistants handle the financial transaction. You are then escorted back to the original assistant who helped you and she gives you your perfectly wrapped purchase…and then asks if you’d like to be spritzed with perfume. I, of course, said yes and acted as if this sort of thing happens all the time. But my calm cool exterior was nearly shattered when she then turned to G and asked ‘May I spritz you, sir?’ because the incredulous look on his face was truly priceless!)
I honestly still can’t get enough of these balconies! #TakeMeBack
Next time you’re in Paris make sure you’re looking above you as often as possible – you might just find the best view of your trip! (But please, for goodness sake, step out of the way of other pedestrians first!)
