Last week Kate Spade New York opened it’s biggest showroom in the world here in London…which spells nothing but beautiful, colourful, expensive trouble for me!
As someone who loves colour, organization and handbags, walking into the new store is like walking into my happy place. (Please note: I have no affiliation with Kate Spade…I’m just a fan and couldn’t help getting excited and inspired by the gorgeous space!) The walls are lined with endless arrays of colour and styles just begging to be picked up – and having seen my colour-coded bookshelves you know I was excited to see this:
There was almost too much to take in and I was a kid in a candy store dashing every which way to try and see it all at once.
(The store is filled with signs that have been ‘Brit-ified’ like the one above – such a cute and thoughtful detail!)
The main floor is a treasure trove with something for everyone – clothes, bags, wallets, umbrellas, stationary, accessories and shoes.
Even if you’re not in the mood (or position) to splurge there are accessories and smaller pieces dotted throughout just screaming to be taken home with you. Beautiful scarves and dainty belts:
Sunglasses to prepare you for Spring:
Card cases by the dozens (I have my eye on the multi-coloured confetti!):
As I quickly realized, it’s easy to lose track of time in this kind of space. Thankfully for my other half there are also lots of spots to grab a seat while waiting patiently…(How precious are the wicker dog and those dalmatian flats?!)
Once you’ve had a chance to see everything at ground level it’s time to head up the elegant, striped stairs…
…into the realm of little ones and lovely things for the home.
And though my London flat doesn’t have much of a terrace I did ponder how it might be possible to recreate this summer BBQ scene:
Miraculously, I managed to remain rational and left without making a purchase. But seeing as how it’s my birthday the week after next there are now quite few additions to my wish list! For example, the Penelope Bag, the Confetti Card Holder, and this Floral Dress.
All in all I love the new store and I know it’s going to be a frequent stop for me going forward. Welcome, Kate Spade….I’m so glad you’re here!
